Now Available: Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives and Community Relations Plan

Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives

The Friends of the Boat School has worked with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (MEDEP) to prepare an Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) and a Community Relations Plan, for the Boat School Site.  The ABCA provides a comparative analysis of potential cleanup alternatives being considered for the Site.  The Community Relations Plan is intended to address the needs and concerns of Eastport residents potentially impacted by the proposed remediation.  Both documents are required as part of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) Brownfields process prior to any request for cleanup funding.

Community Relations Plan

A meeting to present the ABCA and address any public concerns will be held at the Eastport Port Authority Welcome Center on Thursday October 14th, at 6pm.  Both documents are available for review at the links below and any public comments or questions can be emailed to info@theboatschool.org.  Alternatively, Nick Hodgkins of the MEDEP can be contacted with questions at 207-592-0882 or by email at nick.hodgkins@maine.gov.
